We hope that you will put forward the names of those people - volunteers or professionals - who have made a difference to the lives of people with macular conditions. Our awards are a way of saying "thank you" to professionals and volunteers for all they do.
Best clinical service of the year
We know that a patient's experience in an eye clinic can profoundly affect how they cope with their condition. If you have experienced exceptional care from your eye health professional, please nominate them for an award.
Doctors, nurses and orthoptists or their teams are all eligible for this award.
Best optometrist or optician of the year
This award is for optometrists or opticians working in private practice, local societies or other community settings. If your local optician or optometrist really stands out from the crowd, they may deserve one of our awards.
Support or community rehabilitation professional of the year
Good rehabilitation makes the lives of people with sight loss immeasurably better, yet this branch of the eye care profession is often overlooked. Rehabilitation workers are sometimes part of council social services, and others work for local societies.
Volunteer of the year
Every year thousands of people volunteer for the Society. They help run our support groups, coach people in eccentric viewing techniques, act as befrienders or treatment buddies, or fundraise.
The Macular Society’s annual award scheme has been made possible because of the generous sponsorship of Vision Aid.
