Professor Paul BishopProfessor Paul Bishop: Professor Paul Bishop has been chairman of the Macular Society’s Research Committee since 2012, and is due to step down from the role in 2018. In a career spanning more than 30 years, he has become a highly-respected  clinician, researcher and leader in ophthalmology and the field of retinal medicine.

He said: “It’s been an honour and a privilege to chair the Research Committee for the past five years and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my tenure. During that time, we’ve increased the amount of funding the Society invests in research projects each year and it’s vital that continues.”
