Sheila Parkes: Sheila has raised more than £2,000 by giving talks about ill-fated passenger liner, the Titanic, to various groups in the Birmingham area in return for a donation to the Macular Society.
She said: “I wanted to find a way of raising money to help with research into the disease. I dress up in period costume and take along lots of the memorabilia that I’ve collected relating to the ship, which people seem to really enjoy.”
Enid Pottage: In the past decade, Enid has helped raise more than £15,000 for the Society through awareness events in high streets, local shops and supermarkets.
She said: “I’m determined to keep fundraising for the Society and raising awareness of macular conditions. I want macular disease to be cured and I want to continue playing my part.”
