Making a Gift Aid Declaration
If you are a UK tax payer, we can claim Gift Aid on your donations at no extra cost to you. This means that for every £1 you donate we can claim an additional 25p from the Government. It increases the amount of your gift by 25%. All you need to do is sign and return a Gift Aid Declaration to confirm you are a UK tax payer. You will be asked about Gift Aid when making an online donation or if you are giving by phone.
If you are a higher rate tax payer you can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax (40% or 50%) and the basic rate of 20% on your donation amount. To claim the additional tax relief you must include all your gifts and donations on your Self Assessment Tax Return or ask the HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
If you are donating by post and would like us to claim Gift Aid on your behalf, please download and complete the Charity GAD multiple donations form, and send it with your donation to:
Macular Society, PO Box 1870, Andover, Hampshire, SP10 9AD.
