Patients are being encouraged to give their views on the standard of accessible information provided by health and social care services.
Last year all organisations that provide NHS care or adult social care were legally required to follow the Accessible Information Standard.
The standard aims to ensure people who have a disability, impairment or sensory loss are provided with information they can easily read or understand.
NHS England is reviewing the Standard to assess the impact and to ensure that it is ‘fit for purpose’.
The review is looking at:
- how organisations have implemented the Standard;
- the impact of the Standard, including organisations’ and service users’ experiences;
- any aspects of the Standard which need updating or clarifying.
There are three surveys aimed at different groups.
