Take part in a research project

A man using the MD_ev reader app

Royal Holloway University of London is looking for volunteers to assist with a research project: ‘Investigating reading with an iPad app for people with central vision loss.’

The project, funded by the Macular Society, will look at the advantages of presenting scrolling text on an iPad using the MD_evReader. The project will evaluate the reading performance of people with macular disease when using text presented in a scrolling stream, as opposed to a static screen or printed page.

Researcher, Ms Farah Akthar, will visit volunteers in their own homes to demonstrate and assess their reading performance using the iPad app.

To be eligible to take part you need to:
·       have central vision loss in one or both eyes
·       live either within an hour of Egham (Surrey), Central London, or the Cambridge and Peterborough area.

You do not need to own an iPad.

If you meet the above criteria and would like to get involved please contact Farah Akthar on 07379 899573, or email Farah.Akthar.2017@live.rhul.ac.uk
