If you are a UK tax payer, payroll giving is an easy and tax-free way of helping people affected by macular disease. Through payroll giving your donation could be increased by up to 50%, making your money go even further.
How does payroll giving work?
Through payroll giving, you get immediate tax relief of up to £5 for every £10 donated. Donations are taken from your salary before tax, reducing the amount of income tax you will pay.
What do you need to do?
It’s easy to sign up. Just ask your payroll department to deduct regular donations from your salary, stating how much you would like to give and to which charity.
If your employer does not already have a payroll giving scheme in place it is quick and easy for them to set up. Employers simply sign up with a Payroll Giving Agency who will administer donations on their behalf.
