Tea for MD is a perfect excuse to get together with family and friends and raise much needed funds to help people with macular disease, while enjoying cake and a cuppa!
You could hold your Tea as a summer strawberry tea, for the Olympics or to celebrate a special occasion.
Whenever and wherever you decide to hold your Tea, we have a range of materials to help you. Call Kathy King on 01264 321 964 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for further details and your free information pack or order your materials here.
Society member Jennifer Heaton, who was diagnosed with wet AMD in September 2014, celebrated her 75th birthday with a Tea for MD for 60 of her family and friends.
Eight colourful cakes, representing a life through the decades, were the centrepiece of the occasion. The cake themes included a 1950s scooter, a 1970s family camping scene and a book highlighting the 10 years Jennifer spent working for the University of Central Lancashire in Preston in the 1990s.
The 2010s were represented by a cake in the shape of a camera as Jennifer is a keen photographer. Jennifer said “I’ve been taking digital photos for the last 10 years and sometimes give talks. AMD hampers me a bit with the photography, but I can look at the photos on the laptop using a magnifying app.”
Jennifer’s Tea for MD raised a fantastic £647 for Society funds!
