"To anyone who is fighting against having an injection, I'd say there's no need to be fearful." - Hazel Higgerson, Treatment buddy
When Hazel Higgerson was told she would need an injection to treat her wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) she was petrified. But her anxieties soon eased after her first injection when she realised it was not as scary as it had first seemed.
Hazel has now signed up as a treatment buddy for the Society. Treatment buddies offer telephone support to people who are anxious about their injections, and offer information and reassurance.
