There will also be an opportunity to have your questions answered.

What's on?

Here’s a preview of some of the sessions you’ll be able to enjoy:

The wider world of macular conditions session

  • Dr Michael Crossland will discuss the findings of his research into the mental health of young people after diagnosis.
  • Robin Spinks on the future of AI-powered smart glasses and wearable technology.

Age-related macular degeneration session

  • Professor Lyndon da Cruz with the latest research from Moorfields in the development of cell replacement therapies for AMD and other macular diseases.
  • Dr Ruth Hogg will share her team’s work to improve our understanding of the early stages of AMD through studying people as they age.

My Macular and Me Session

  • Macular Society counsellor Carly Johnson will explore ways to navigate relationships while living with macular disease.
  • Macular Society programme team and volunteers will provide practical support sessions including the importance of the right lighting, low vision aids and eccentric viewing.
