Join us in Beating Macular Disease
Are you someone who enjoys creating clarity out of complexity, building strong relationships and making things happen? Do you love bringing people together, improving ways of working and ensuring great work gets delivered?
We're looking for an experienced engagement planner to play a pivotal role within our Engagement team, helping us deliver impactful communications, campaigns and supporter experiences that help us Beat Macular Disease.
About the Macular Society
Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. We're the only UK charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease through:
World class research to find new treatments and a cure
Practical support for people affected by sight loss
Trusted advice and support services that empower those living with macular disease
About the role
As our Engagement planning and operations manager, you will:
Lead and manage the organisation's communications planning calendar, ensuring activity is coordinated and aligned to priorities.
Oversee engagement workflows, approvals processes and ways of working, helping teams move projects efficiently from idea to delivery.
Work with stakeholders across the charity to assess, prioritise and schedule requests for content, copywriting and design balancing competing priorities and identifying dependencies early.
Support effective resource and capacity planning, ensuring our content and creative team can deliver both immediate priorities and longer-term projects.
Build strong, trusted relationships with colleagues at all levels, providing guidance, challenge and support where needed.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and strengthen cross-organisational collaboration.
Help create greater visibility, focus and accountability across engagement activity.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
Experience coordinating complex plans, projects or workflows across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain attention to detail, ideally within a creative environment supporting copywriting and design teams.
Confidence in influencing and building relationships with colleagues at all levels.
The ability to navigate complexity, challenge constructively and find practical solutions.
Experience improving processes and ways of working within a busy environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A collaborative and diplomatic approach, combined with the confidence to make decisions and drive progress.
Why join us?
In return, we provide a great working culture – we do something worthwhile and are proud to work together to Beat Macular Disease – as recognised by our inclusion in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023 list.
Benefits include:
- Flexible working options
- 27 days annual leave, plus public holidays
- Option to buy or sell annual leave
