Open day to highlight importance of clinical trials

Posted: Tuesday 08 May 2018

Moorfields Eye Hospital is holding its annual open day to give the public a chance to find out more about the science and research that lies behind eye treatments.

The free event, which will take place in celebration of International Clinical Trials Day, will be held at the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) clinical research facility based at Moorfields Eye Hospital on Friday 18 May.

The day will explore the role of clinical research in improving outcomes for patients with eye diseases and vision loss.

Visitors will be given the chance to explore the structure of their own eye, as well as learn how it feels to perform normal day to day tasks when you have an eye condition. There will also be the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops demonstrating clinical skills and discussing the importance of eyes and vision research.
