Macular Society charity places

We are delighted that we will have five fundraising places available in the 2025 TCS London Marathon, which is scheduled to take place on 27 April 2025.

We expect demand for these places to be very high and will award them to the applicants who display a real commitment to their fundraising, as well as the motivation to train for and complete the full marathon distance.

Please complete our application form to be considered for a place. Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted over the coming months. We expect to make a final decision about places after London Marathon Events announce the public ballot results in July.

Applications for the public ballot will open on Saturday, 20 April 2024 and close on Friday, 26 April 2024. We would strongly recommend that runners also apply for a ballot place in the event.

Places in the London Marathon are highly sought after by runners, and purchasing charity places is a significant investment for the Charity. For this reason, we will be asking runners to pledge to raise a minimum £2,500 (excluding Gift Aid) in sponsorship to help Beat Macular Disease.

Visually Impaired runners

If you are a visually impaired runner with a charity place or your own/ballot place, London Marathon Events can offer a free guide/support runner place. If you would like further details, please get in touch by emailing community@macularsociety.org

Have you got your own place?

If you already have a place in the 2025 London Marathon through the public ballot or as a good for age runner etc., we'd love you to run for us! So, let us know and we'll support you every step of the way, including sending you a free charity top for you to wear during training and on event day. Join #TeamMacular and together let’s Beat Macular Disease.
