Macular Week is all about increasing awareness of macular disease, as well as highlighting the importance of research funding, which could eventually help to find a cure for macular disease. Thank you to everyone who got involved in 2017 by organising events and spreading the word that smoking causes sight loss.
Macular Week 2018: 25 June – 1 July
Every week across the UK, our brilliant volunteers raise awareness of macular disease, help people tackle the everyday practical problems caused by sight loss, and raise the funds that make research happen. But because sight loss is often invisible to the untrained eye, much of that vital work goes unnoticed by the wider world.
So this Macular Week we’ll bring macular disease out of the shadows. We’ll tell the stories of just a few of our remarkable members, staff, supporters and researchers. In 2017, almost 150 events around the UK helped to spread the word, and this year our plans are even bigger.
