During 2020 we launched a new series of weekly Wednesday-night calls to help lift people’s spirits. We are pleased to announce that due to the success of these calls we are continuing this service during 2021 and 2022, and bookings are now being taken for these exciting calls.
Each hour-long call features light-hearted discussions and entertainment from people from many walks of life, for example we have story tellers, Black Country living museum, Singers, First world war stories, History of the BBC, Pantomime, Smuggling, and tribulations of a driving instructor already planned, plus many more!
All of our wonderful speakers are providing this service free of charge.
With temperatures dropping over the winter months evenings drawing in, what better time to cosy up with a cuppa and enjoy a friendly evening phone call.
The calls will run from the beginning of November to end of February, every Wednesday from 6-7pm and are hosted by a member of the Macular Society staff. Speakers provide around 20 minutes of entertainment, followed by free chat with our members. Members have the option of joining in and being muted to enjoy the sound of contact with others, and then are free to leave the call when they wish, or stay and talk for up to one hour. *If members do not want to incur any local call charges we can dial them into the calls.
