About the Macular Society
Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. We're the only UK charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease through:

About the role
Working closely within our passionate and results driven trusts and philanthropy team, you will manage your own portfolio of charitable trusts and support the developing major donor and statutory funding relationships as required. You will be help us Beat Macular Disease by talking with funders and writing bespoke funding applications for support services, medical research and core costs. Diligently recording all relationship information and communications on our database.
As our trusts and philanthropy manager, you will:
- Develop and deliver income growth plans to secure funding from trusts, foundations, major donors and statutory bodies.
- Manage and develop the trusts and philanthropy officer, providing leadership and support to achieve team objectives.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects, using the CRM to track relationships, proposals and donor journeys.
- Create compelling funding proposals and reports, collaborating with colleagues to gather accurate project and budget information.
- Provide excellent donor stewardship and contribute to continuous improvement, including supporting CRM development and wider fundraising projects.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be:
- A successful track record in trusts fundraising including developing multi-year proposals for 5 and 6 figure gifts.
- An up-to-date knowledge of the trust fundraising landscape and a working knowledge of research sources and methodologies.
- Experience in developing and maintaining funding relationships that inspire repeat gifts.
- Excellent writing skills for delivering inspiring proposals and reports to a deadline.
- Collaborative and open, working with integrity and informed decision-making.
- Empathetic and supportive, creating a caring environment for all.
As part of the process, you will be required to complete a written task ahead of the interview.
