Creating a model of the macula

Tuesday 20 January 2026

Professor Rachael Pearson and her team have been working on furthering our understanding of what genes are instrumental in the development of the macula. Understanding how the macula is made is key in identifying what can go wrong and gives clues to effective treatment strategies.

Our first webinar of 2026 focuses on the new insights from the project at Kings College London’s Centre for Gene Therapy and Regenerative Medicine and how developing more accurate disease models could help improve future treatments for macular disease.
