Westminster Eye Health Day returns this year for a chance for politicians to hear more about patients’ experiences in eye care and improve services for everyone living with sight loss.

The event, which has been funded by Roche Products Ltd and organised by The Eyes Have It partnership, will share findings from a new national patient survey and a recent review of Integrated Care Boards across England.

The Eyes Have it partnership is a collaboration of the Macular Society, Fight for Sight, The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth), Association of Optometrists (AOP), Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and Roche and continues to champion and promote eye health among parliamentarians and policy makers across the UK.

Improving patient experiences

The event will bring together parliamentarians, policymakers and people living with sight loss to explore the future of eye care and improve outcomes for patients.

By attending, MPs can explore new evidence on patient experiences of eye care services and where improvements are most needed. They will learn more about how eye care services are being planned and delivered across England, including the variation that exists locally and discuss how to improve access to timely care, to avoid preventable avoidable sight loss.

How can you help?

Westminster Eye Health Day is now an annual event in the parliamentary calendar. As we know from previous events, MPs are more likely to attend if they were encouraged to do so by you, their constituents.

While we understand there are lots of things you may want to write to you MP about at the moment, this issue remains close to all of our hearts and we must not let anything stand in the way of Beating Macular Disease.

You can invite your MP along to the event by downloading our template MP letter.

If you don’t know who your MP is, you can find your MP here.

Have you contacted your MP?
