Information for funeral directors
Thank you so much for supporting families through a difficult time, and for collecting donations in memory on our behalf.
Funeral collections are incredibly important to the Macular Society, funding both world-class research and the best advice and support to people living with macular disease.
Online tribute pages
We always recommend that families set up an online tribute page before the service, to enable those unable to attend to pay their respects. We use muchloved’s platform for this.
If you are setting up a page using muchloved, please ask a family member if they would like to share guardianship with you, or have it transferred to them after the service. Many people find comfort in adding to a tribute page over time, and it would mean that, long after the funeral is over, they can keep the page as a lasting tribute to their loved one.
Paying in collections
If you have cheques to send to us, please send them, along with any Gift Aid declarations or envelopes, to:
In Memory Team
PO Box 1870
You can also pay in a simple cash collection online, by phone or by BACS transfer. Please call or email us for bank details. As BACS transfers do not incur costs, we would prefer this method, or cheque payment, for larger collections.
If you are paying in online, please enter “Funeral Director” when prompted for your relationship to the Deceased, and note that Gift Aid does not apply to collections. If you have collected Gift Aid declarations at the service, please send these to us by post.
If you have any questions, you need our bank details or you would like to order envelopes for a service, please call Debbie, Corinne or Jackie on 01264 322 410 or email email@example.com
Thank you again for collecting donations on behalf of the Macular Society.
